Houston Design Resources

Last year I photographed a 17,000 sq ft home for Houston based designer, Andrea Garrity (ASID) Garrity Design Group. It was recently published in Houston Design Resources, which included both the cover and a 22 page spread. That’s the largest editorial I have had featured. It was also one of the finest homes I have ever been in.

Sharlie McRaney (ASID) | Tigh Interiors

A couple of years ago I met ASID member, Sharlie McRaney of Tigh Interiors, while photographing KEYS Community Center. She recently completed a patio home in the golf community of Rio Verde. We captured many images of the home, some of which were vignettes like this one, focusing solely on color, texture, and design style.

Wine Design

Tanner Luster, Luster Construction asked me to photograph a wine room, which was formerly an outside patio area. This view is actually looking through a large window from the dining room. The challenge was obvious: eliminate the bright reflections (that would ruin the shot), the approach: overpower the reflections with strong light from the inside.

Tempe Town Lakes

I was on location at Tempe Town Lakes by 6am to test out my new panoramic equipment designed by Really Right Stuff. These guys know how to make stout precision gear. I mounted my camera in vertical orientation, aligned the nodal point of the lens, set the focal length to 70mm, and proceeded to capture a very wide field of view that maintains close proportions and spatial relationships to that of the human eye. Creative Leather Part II

I  photographed several new products at the Creative Leather Furniture store in Tempe. This location is also the manufacturing and distribution center for all of the stores in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. Over the years, I’ve found that fabrics (especially black leather) are rather tricky to photograph. Lighting placement is a matter of experimentation.

Desert Ridge & Tempe Marketplace

I was brought into an exciting project, by designer Sarah Loukota. The task was to showcase Desert Ridge and Tempe Marketplace for Vestar’s new website. This was one of the more challenging projects I’ve photographed, as it required may days of scouting, planning, and shooting from a man lift. I wanted to capture the fun evening atmosphere of both places, and hopefully we did.
