Updated galleries
I spent several days going through my image archives, discovering and reprocessing old images for my website. It’s good to review and compare old work with current. I was surprised to discover that some of the images I liked best had the simplest lighting setup. I worked hard to learn how to create theatrical lighting, only to find that I prefer a more even lighting style.

The New JC Studios
Here’s an exterior shot of John Covington’s new photo studio.

Haver Modernized
I recently worked with John Covington, a renown studio photographer, motorcycle builder, and even home designer. We photographed his newly renovated home in Phoenix, although renovated hardly describes the extreme makeover this Ralph Haver home underwent…major architectural changes, relocated plumbing, etc. According to John, by the time we were done it looked like a “Baxter Tornado” went through his home. I take that as a compliment.

Creative Leather
I was on location at the Creative Leather Arrowhead Showroom with the company president, Mike Gregory. We were photographing some of their newer products. I discovered how challenging dark, shiny leather can be to photograph. When the fabric is that dark, the only thing that shows is reflection, so how do you make a pleasant glare?

Bath & beyond…
Last week’s project for F1 Cabinets took me out to the Fountain Hills luxury community known as Firerock. This image is of the master bath, although with it’s elegance and grand scale it could easily be mistaken for the entry…minus the clawfoot tub of course.
